If you’re looking for the dreamiest historic meets modern wedding venue then you’ve found it with The Commons 1854. Nestled in the center of Topsfield on the Massachusetts North Shore, Katie and Brad knew it was The One for their wedding day.
After rescheduling due to covid, we finally got to celebrate on the most gorgeous fall day. They got ready together at Briar Barn Inn and shared a brief, emotional first look. We moved on to the venue for portraits where we got to enjoy the gorgeous gardens. Brad, looking ever so dapper with cufflinks featuring their cat and Katie looking like a bombshell in her BHLDN gown and cape. I’ll never get sick of laughing with these two and enjoying the love they share.
As dusk rolled in, guests were treated to music from the Fenway String Quartet in the garden as they awaited the ceremony. As soon as Brad and Katie entered, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house (I lost it too). Brad’s dad officiated the emotional ceremony which was incredibly touching. For cocktail hour we moved into the Commons 1854’s lower level. Brad and Katie made sure of one thing – breakfast was the theme of their menu. From french toast shooters to mini chicken and waffles, the cocktail hour apps were a hit.
For their reception, Katie and Brad knew they wanted to keep it nice a simple. No toasts, nothing complicated, just a sweet first dance followed by a breakfast buffet. The ballroom lit up with love and laughter it was party time. I don’t think there was a single person left in their seats when it came to the open dance floor.
Needless to say, I’m definitely adding The Commons 1854 to one of my favorite North Shore wedding venues. You can see another North Shore favorite here. Are you planning your Topsfield wedding? I’d love to chat!
