Here in New England we’re SO lucky to be spoiled for choice when it comes to elopement locations. When it comes to the White Mountains in New Hampshire, you’re guaranteed to find something magical as a backdrop for your nuptials. Jenna and Ben came to me wanting the perfect location for their summer elopement as the two of them just wanted to a no drama, low stress elopement. When they said White Mountains, I was more than happy to offer my expertise. After a short back and forth, we settled on Glen Ellis Falls. A short drive from iconic Mount Washington is one of those spots that never gets *too* busy but is known for the stunning 60ft waterfall.

Jenna and Ben, who met while in the military are honestly more than fun. Originally from New Hampshire, they knew they wanted a dramatic backdrop and a relaxed day. I met them at their hotel at the base of Mount Washington while they got ready together. After a small dress hiccup we got them ready and headed over to Glen Ellis Falls. The weather was perfect, a beautiful summer day that wasn’t too hot or too humid, just perfect. We met Jenna’s uncle in the parking lot as he would be officiating their ceremony. Together we all hiked down to the waterfall and got into position. Did I have to shoot the entire ceremony knee deep in water to make sure I got the perfect shot? Absolutely. Would I do it again? You bet. After a short ceremony acknowledging the land and spirits of the surrounds and sharing intimate, romantic vows, they were married.

The trail at Glen Ellis Falls is truly nothing short of stunning. I was spoiled when it came to locations for their portraits. Popping open some celebratory bubbly and then just truly enjoying the views, portraits during their elopement were the perfect mix of boho moody and romantic. Are you planning an elopement in the White Mountains? Get in touch because I would LOVE to be your photographer.

From Jenna

Jem went above and beyond our expectations. My now-husband and I had her photograph our elopement in the White Mountains this past August. Not only is Jem incredibly talented, she made us feel so comfortable and understood exactly what we wanted in terms of the “mood” of our photos. I cried when I first saw them and still look at them regularly months later in awe of how truly beautiful and “us” they are.
