2020 is the year of couples overcoming the heartbreak of rescheduling or cancelling and instead celebrating their love with a minimony, microwedding or elopement. Something short and sweet that still makes them excited about being married.
Clarita and Matthew were one of my couples that were really hit hard when rescheduling their wedding due to COVID19. So much planning and excitement had been channelled into their chic Boston wedding that when they made the call to push it back to 2021 it was a heartbreak. Clarita’s parents were actually the main advocates for a minimony, they saw an opportunity for Clarita and Matthew to still celebrate and the silver lining of having their dog Mac join them at their ceremony.
We got together on a warm summer morning, dogs in their best bandanas, masks, social distance and Matthew’s family tuning in from North Carolina and the rest of their friends and family on zoom for them to exchange vows, and legally do the thing and get married. Sandy’s Island tucked away in the center of Winchester was the perfect hidden gem of a location.
