This Maine elopement has everything that makes a photographer’s heart sing – treehouse, boho vibes, charcuterie. Not just your regular treehouses, these are sustainable, local to Portland Maine and provide adventurous elopement feels without having to hike into the woods (I’m outdoorsy to a limit).
As part of the Elevate Workshop, we got to use one of those treehouses as the venue for this styled Boho Elopement. Think lace, bell sleeves, macrame and so so much good stuff that made this intimate setting just so much better. I know what you’re thinking – “boho is SO overdone”. To that I say “is it really?!”.
Autumn and CJ just OOZE so much love. Watching them giggle and melt into each other is exactly why I love my job, as voyeuristic as that sounds. We talked about their first date, CJ’s creepy (Autumn’s words!) white van and it’s clear that these two are meant to be. It’s funny how the universe does that, brings two people together in a way that just feels so right and fits like an old glove.
The elopement itself was sweet, intimate and nothing short of stunning. Warm earth tones complimented the surrounding tree house and early spring foliage. The treehouse just feels so private and you can sink away into the moment and not have to deal with the distractions that often can take away during a larger wedding. Not that larger weddings are in any way bad, but elopements truly just hit different.
For 2022 I’m taking on a few more elopements to fill out my calendar and I would love to add yours to that list! Head on over to my contact page and we can start making magic together.
