You can call me jem.

Originally from Sydney, Australia I ended up on the other side of the planet in Central Massachusetts because I fell in love. I married a guy, left my comfortable job in a newsroom, packed up my cat, sold everything I owned and took a risk. I don’t do anything in halves and bold moves are kind of my thing.

I never saw myself as a photographer growing up but I knew I wanted to tell stories. I was convinced I was going to be a journalist and travel the world recounting what I had seen and meeting new people. Writing never felt right and I ended up going to Art School as a Photomedia major.

After 3 years of study, I couldn’t find a place in the photo world that really lit my soul on fire. Then in 2010, my friend asked me to photograph his wedding. I had no idea what I was getting into but I agreed. Not only did I get to watch my friends leap into a new adventure together, but I got to notice the little moments that make each wedding day special and unique. I was hooked.

The First Thing you'll notice about me is my accent.

Weddings are a celebration not just of your relationship with your person, but also a celebration of those around you who you’ve hand picked to share this moment with.

It's the little things.

When you’re standing together at the altar before you start the ceremony and you let out a nervous laugh, the tear that escapes when your new husband dances with their mom, to your best friend from high school cutting loose on the dancefloor with your grandma while Whitney Houston plays. Those moments and everything that happens in between is what makes a wedding special and that’s what I aim to capture. Even if you weren’t directly there, you’ll be able to relive it through the photos like you were.
