Bride and groom embrace along the charles river with cambridge skyline behind them during Boston Elopement

I had never heard of the Charles River Esplanade until the fall last year, which is incredible since it’s such an iconic Boston location. As the green lined path along the Charles River overlooks the Cambridge skyline on one side and with the Prudential building peeking out of the trees to the other direction, it’s hardly surprising that Kelley and Matt chose this waterfront location for their COVID 19 elopement.

Like many other couples, they had to reschedule to larger wedding celebrations to later in the fall with everything that’s currently happening in the world. But, we got up early on a Saturday morning, with the perfect weather and only a few joggers on the usually busy Charles River Esplanade to get them married.  Their ceremony was short and sweet, but the emotion and love was still echoing through the entire morning. I think there’s a perception that you miss out on a ~vibe~ by eloping but honestly these minimonies that I’ve been photographing this summer have such a unique vibe of their own.
